Guam, day 1: Sleeping Grass
Selina and I had our first full day on Guam. Met relatives and drove around the island. We stopped to take some photos off the southern tip and she introduced me to sleeping grass:
Officially named mimosa pudica, it responds to touch, vibration or temperature changes by rapidly changing turgor pressure within its cells. The leaves close up on themselves pretty much instantaneously. Which is pretty neat, particularly how quickly it moves. The video above is pretty good, but I'll try to make another one from a better angle.
